Udon are traditional Japanese thick noodles made from wheat flour. They can be prepared a multitude of ways, making them a great pantry staple. Udon and Soba noodles have been used in Japanese cuisine for hundreds of years. The oldest anthologies say that the noodles were brought over from China around 700 AD, but weren’t popularized until the Edo period (1603 -1868). We like to throw them in our Pork Shank Ramen Base for an instant soup that tastes like you spent hours over the stove.
